Chairperson’s Message

There is a very strong association-though often not appreciated – between quality of health professions education and population health. Faculty development programs have been in operation; however, most of them are ‘generic ‘ and ‘unfocussed’, which limits the benefits accruing out of such programs.

Research in health professions education is another area where we are lacking. Though many faculties show appreciable interest in this area, lack of training and lack of opportunities act as dampener in this field.

Centre for Health Professions Education (Centre for Health Professions Education) tries to provide focused programs as well as provide opportunities for research in health professions education. The focused program in operation is Fellow in Assessment; many more are expected to follow. A Ph. D. program provides opportunities for research in HPE.
